Producers don't
read your scripts. I do! Who am I? I am known as the "Gatekeeper."
Studios, producers, directors, agents, managers, and actors are deluged with screenplays.
They do not have time to read your scripts. Instead, they use a Script Reader, Script Analyst, Script Consultant,
or Script Developer. If these professionals give your script a "Consider" or "Recommend," it will
get a second or third read before it is seen by the person who can green-light it. Sadly, many aspiring, unknown writers do not know this. A lack of knowledge will severely hinder your success. Producers
are looking for great scripts. However, screenwriting is a highly competitive market, and you only have one time to impress.
DO NOT send your script out before it is ready. When you submit your screenplay to a
studio, the reader will write coverage on it. It’s a small town. Everyone will hear about your script. They will know
if it got a "RECOMMEND," "CONSIDER," or worst of all a "PASS,” rejection.
Have your screenplay professionally read to see how a studio, producer, agent, or reader would evaluate it.
